MoCCA!

I forgot to mention (formally) that I will be at MoCCA this weekend sketching and selling books/buttons at the Friends of Lulu booth! C'mon out and visit!

I'm going to be doing sketches way cheaper than usual, and half will be donated directly to FoL. You will be getting a sketch for a good cause!

Additionally, HELLO, have you looked at this guest list? KILLER! There's like a bazillion and eight exceptional people coming to this show (some of which are not listed - moi included). A hoard of my fave webcomic people will be there. Will a hoard of my favorite webcomic readers be there, too?

I hope so!

Home, but no cigar.

Sorry about the delay, guys - I had a long drive home from MoCCA last night, and didn't think I would crash so hard. In addition to the unbearable heat, MoCCA wiped me out and I ended up sleeping in my car somewhere in Pennsylvania last night, instead of coming home to update the comic.

You'll get a full five comics this week, I just need to decide which two strips can go together on the same page for a day.

Anyway, you won't be missing anything!

Beach babes!

So I finally figured out how to get the central air working in my house, THUS! I felt productive today. And you reap the benefits.

While I was in New York, I found a Dick Blick store and jumped in before MoCCA started Sunday. There I found like a DOZEN Copic marker colors that simulated flesh tones beautifully, and blew a bunch of money on them, because I NEED THEM. So I'm going to be drawing a lot more color pieces now.

Feeling the heat, I decided to pump out two beachy shots of Hazel and Jamie:

They're both for sale on eBay, and if you win/"buy now" both pieces you'll get the shipping for free! ALSO...

Had to do it. Hazel in a diaper, or Jamie being adorable in a springy dress (note the Golden Age Jamie hair!).

All auctions end next Tuesday at a reasonable hour for most people who read this strip! Though I'm sure it'll be like 4 in the morning for SOMEONE - sorry, whoever that is!

Anyway, enjoy. Oh yeah, and poor fucking Hazel. *sigh*

Friends, allow me to introduce to you three ladies you will be seeing more of soon.

The whacko on the left should be recognizable (see aforementioned tee shirt photo). To my left is the talented Lauren, whose photography you saw in a strip or two of mine. The girl to the far right is my old neighbor Vanessa, also madly talented.

So that leaves Katie, the short tan hottie between 'em. Okay, so she's shorter than me, but she has much more of a presence. YOU WILL NOT MISS HER. Keep an eye out, Heroes goers!!

Also... I can't just avoid talking about it. The shirts. They are coming!! So far we just have the cute proofs, but soon, you will be seeing these very ladies showing off the shirts for your preorder needs. Keep an eye open and you can get yerself one, too!

I know I've been really slacking on posting photos here recently. Luckily, my Shepherdstown people are top-notch about posting photos, so I've been prompted to put the Heroes photos together early.

GWS DRINKS!!

New contest, guys!

By the end of the summer I plan to make a set of really kickass GWS shotglasses. When you buy the full set, you'll also get a drink book filled with drinks created by YOU GUYS to go with each GWS character.

Here's the scoop:

WHEN: The next 2 weeks (through July 12th)

WHAT: Come up with some delicious recipes based on your favorite GWS characters (clever rituals and physical embellishments happily accepted).

HOW: Send them to girlswithslingshots@gmail.com with the subject line "GWS DRINK SUBMISSION" (otherwise I won't see it).

Sometime near the end of July, I'll be throwing a huge party to test each of the best submissions (no, I won't be testing them all on my own!).

The winners will each get an original sketch of the character they won, a free drink book (plus credit in the book, of course), and the first place winner will also get the full set of shotglasses to boot!

The characters I'm DEFINITELY including in the drink book can be seen right here, although if you have an idea for any of the other characters, feel free to submit them! You can jog your memory at the cast page if you've forgotten their names.
